In the training we will dive into the indication for drug use, drug formulation, dosage and administration, side effects, as well as pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics. Additionally, we will explore the positioning of pharmaceuticals within their therapeutic groups. Furthermore, we will address other topics such as contraindications and drug interactions.
The expert speakers
Timo Myöhänen
The trainer of this education, Timo Myöhänen, PhD, is a professor of pharmacology at the University of Eastern Finland and the University of Helsinki. Myöhänen has been leading the PREP in Neurogenerative disorders research group at the University of Helsinki since 2011 and is also the leader of the Neurodegeneration Lab at the University of Eastern Finland. Having completed post-doctoral periods in research groups in Belgium and in the United States, Myöhänen has gained extensive experience in domestic and international roles within various universities. His research is primarily focused on finding novel therapies for neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease.
Elli Leppä
Elli Leppä, PhD, is a Development Pharmacist with over a decade of expertise in developing medical information tools and services tailored for healthcare professionals and consumers. Her areas of specialization encompass curating pharmacological information into user-friendly and clinically effective formats. Elli earned her doctoral degree in neuropharmacology from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Helsinki in 2011.
